February 21, 2011 ~ Arrived home at around noon. Took 24 hours to get home. Hit major weather in Pennsylvania. It was scary. Cars and trucks in the ditch and smashed everywhere. Bill did a really great job keeping the 1X truck and trailer on track! Blew another tire today too! Good thing it happened before storm. Great job Smoke and Willy you are awesome tire changers!
Stop back for final update tonight! I have some unpacking to do first!
February 20, 2011 ~ Travel day left track at noon. Hoping to avoid snow!
February 19, 2011 ~ Arrived at track early to check over car from shut off night before. We hot lapped in Group 1 and finished 4th. Started heat race in 4th and finished 2nd. Went to redraw and drew 4th. Started 50 lap race in 4th and finished 10th. Really thought we had something for them but a blistered right rear tire held us back. Recap and final thoughts will be posted when we arrive home. Pixs too. Internet provided a challenge here in Volusia. Car coming home in one piece. 10th in points overall for all week. February 17, 2011 ~ Boys went to track at Noon! More updates tonight! In Hot laps we were second fastest in group. Started heat outside pole. Finished heat in second. Redraw placed us on the pole. Finished the race in 3rd! Special thanks to our crew! We are so grateful for all you do! Bill, Joe, and Carl! Thanks for coming to Volusia with our car! You're the best! It was a fun night! More racing tomorrow!
February 16, 2011 ~ Sorry these posts are so slow. We are having a internet problem at our condo. It took me 2.5 hours to upload 20 pixs last night. Stick with us we are working on fixing problem. Hot laps proved a challenge for Willy last night. Started second and finished last. Qualifying position was determined by hot laps results. We didn't qualify in our heat finished 7th and only took 6! We started consi on outside pole and raced to the lead within a lap. Won Consi. Started race 19th! Willy was really getting a feel for track piloting his 1X all the way up to 10th possibly 8th. A Race car slid sideways in front of Willy and caused him to almost stop to avoid wreck resulting in an 11th place finish! The race car is in one piece and the boys are pumped to race! Back to work and the track tomorrow! Special Thanks to Bill, Joe, and Carl who have been working really hard here in Volusia! Stop back again!
February 15, 2011 ~ Started today with run on Beach. We are still 3 runners strong. Weather is beautiful. First practice went good. Car went great. We are happy with new motor. Had flat tire right before going out for final practice. Changed tire fast but screwed up stagger. Few changes and off racing tomorrow. Oh...did drive by of space center today. Didn't have enough time to tour. Maybe next year! Looking forward to racing!
February 14, 2011 ~ Happy Valentine's Day! Started today with a run on the Beach. The 1X Crew is getting in shape. Weather is 70 in the day and 50 at night. No rain in sight. Practice starts tomorrow. Looking forward to racing.
February 13, 2011 ~ We arrived in Florida at 10:00 AM! Other then a blown tire at 4:06 AM the trip was smooth! I have to tell you it's good to travel with men that can change a tire fast! Rest and relaxation Day today! Going to see some sites! Looking forward to racing!
